The Trauma Recovery Program at Old Vineyard was created to address the significant impact that a traumatic experience can have on an individual’s mental health. As a trauma-informed facility, Old Vineyard educates all staff on trauma-informed care and also has clinicians who are trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). This holistic program is for adult (18+) survivors of physical, emotional, or sexual trauma who are in crisis whether the traumatic experience was a recent event or years ago.
Trauma-focused treatment at Old Vineyard involves self-care, improved coping skills, and ways to create more positive social connections. Individuals will learn how to manage stress, regulate their emotions and understand how their thinking affects their emotions and behaviors. A primary objective is to build self-esteem and self-worth. Mindfulness is taught along with yoga, relaxation and deep breathing techniques. At discharge, patients will be connected with a trauma-focused outpatient clinician who will continue to enhance their recovery journey.
