Trauma-Focused Treatment
The Trauma Recovery Program at Old Vineyard was created to address the significant impact that a traumatic experience can have on an individual’s mental health. As a trauma-informed facility, Old Vineyard educates all staff on trauma-informed care and also has clinicians who are trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). This holistic program is for adult (18+) survivors of physical, emotional, or sexual trauma who are in crisis whether the traumatic experience was a recent event or years ago.
Trauma-focused treatment at Old Vineyard involves self-care, improved coping skills, and ways to create more positive social connections. Using an adult adaptation of TF-CBT, individuals will learn how to manage stress, regulate their emotions and understand how their thinking affects their emotions and behaviors. A primary objective is to build self-esteem and self-worth. Mindfulness is taught along with yoga, relaxation and deep breathing techniques. At discharge, patients will be connected with a trauma-focused outpatient clinician who will continue to enhance their recovery journey.
