Treating Co-Occurring Disorders

Old Vineyard’s Dual Diagnosis Program treats adults of all ages with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. By addressing the dimensions of mental health, substance use, relapse prevention and physical health, Old Vineyard provides its patients with the most up-to-date evidence-based treatment as well as medication management and medication assisted therapy (MAT) when appropriate. Detox is also available to individuals based on personalized treatment plans.

We start with an individualized discharge plan.

From the beginning, we start making goals and plans for life after their inpatient stay. This includes outpatient treatment and lifestyle changes necessary for long-term recovery. Setting intentions from admission helps patients understand where they are going and what they would like to achieve after their time with us.

Individuals engage in multifaceted psychoeducational skill-building groups.

Our patients have structured days that include group therapy from various members of their treatment team to address the complexities of their issues.

We use group therapy sessions.

Through these sessions, both cognitive and dialectical behavioral techniques are utilized along with addiction education through 12-Step principles, recreational therapy, substance use therapy, relaxation, mind and body awareness, as well as family collaboration.

Patients may participate in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings.

AA and NA meetings are available on-site while hospitalized.

Our psychiatrists experts are here to help.

Our providers meet regularly with patients to discuss treatment and individual progress. Some providers are specialists in addiction medicine. Old Vineyard’s licensed therapists, including some Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialists, meet with patients to talk about treatment goals and discharge planning. They also conduct daily therapy groups. A specific transitional outpatient program is available as well for dual diagnosis.
