Dual Diagnosis Treatment for Mental Health and Substance Abuse

This Old Vineyard program provides the most current dual diagnosis treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. These patients have a structured day and participate in group therapy that addresses both mental health and substance abuse issues. Individuals participate in multi-faceted psycho-educational skill building groups that address the dimensions of mental health, substance use, relapse prevention, and physical health through a holistic approach. Group therapy sessions consist of cognitive and dialectical behavioral techniques with addictions education through the 12 Step Principles, recreational therapy, substance use therapy, relaxation, mind and body awareness, and family collaboration.

They may participate in two AA/NA evening meetings each week on the Old Vineyard campus. Detox therapy options are also available and are based on personalized treatment plans.

Our psychiatrists have worked extensively with substance abuse patients and our therapists on this unit also have specialty certifications in addiction. A dual diagnosis specific transitional outpatient program is available as well.
