For someone struggling with a recent life change such as a divorce, losing a loved one, experiencing trauma, new medication or diagnosis, they can feel overwhelmed, depressed anxious and angry. During this difficult time, Old Vineyard offers programs to help manage this difficult time.
During therapy sessions, patients will:
- Learn new skills and better ways to cope
- Meet with others who feel the same way that will share the journey
- Meet daily with a therapist and a behavioral health nurse who will give support
- Meet regularly with a psychiatrist to monitor medications and make sure that they are working
Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), a partial day program, and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), half-day program, for adults in need of support, structure and stability on an outpatient basis. These group programs are designed to help patients develop and improve coping skills to help manage their various psychiatric and behavioral health issues. Both programs uses group therapy and psycho-educational classes to facilitate learning and focus on enhanced life management skills such as:
Learning to Cope
Identity and Self-Awareness
Finding Health and Wellness
Solving Problems and Stress
Kindness and Mindfulness
Living in Balance
Letting Go and Holding On
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our day treatment provides a structured, supportive environment for people who are in need of more intensive treatment than weekly therapist sessions. These programs meet Monday – Friday from 9:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and focuses on Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills modules with a two-week rotation as well as cognitive behavioral therapy.
The group sessions focuses on stress management, emotion regulation, mindfulness, relapse prevention, wellness, interpersonal skill building, and activity therapy. There are two groups – one for mental health and one for dual diagnosis (mental health combined with substance use disorder).
Board certified psychiatrists oversee the programs along with their team consisting of a licensed clinician and a registered mental health nurse who provide daily patient care and medication management. Patients see the psychiatrist daily to check progress and ensure that their medication is the best fit for the individual. During the program patients enjoy a continental breakfast and hot lunch daily.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
These smaller group programs are designed for individuals needing frequent therapist visits. Patients in this program meet with a therapist three times a week from 9:30 a. m. – 12:30 p.m. The patient chooses the best days of the week for their schedule for a total of nine hours a week. We focus on coping skills and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) such as stress management, emotion regulation, mindfulness, relapse prevention, wellness, interpersonal skill building, and activity therapy. The number of visits throughout the program will depend on the individual’s progress.
The substance abuse program offers an afternoon option as well from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. This program also works with 12-step therapy. Suboxone therapy is optional with separate psychiatry visits.
The outpatient programs at Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services helps patients develop and implement enhanced coping skills to better manage everyday living. They offer a heightened level of care than their current experience, prevent the need for an inpatient stay, or provide transition from a higher level of care.
The healing process doesn’t end when the program is done. Each patient will be able to leave our program with an individualized discharge plan to ensure future behavioral health and well-being. The Adult Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs operate Monday through Friday and are open to adults ages 18 and over.
